The San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) wrapped up yesterday after four days of complete geekery. If you’ve been following the buzz, you know that the SDCC is the place to be for the latest news about upcoming science-fiction and fantasy films.
To be honest, I just really wanted to write about San Diego Comic-Con so I took a look at the buzz graph to see what I could find. The buzz graph shows that there wasn’t just one big thing this year, there were many:
Looks like the buzz was around the third season of the Walking Dead, Iron Man 3 (and Marvel), Twilight and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Let’s take a look at the Hobbit because yes, I’m a little biased. The first movie comes out during December and it’s estimated to be two-and-a-half hours long. That’s a lot of hobbit. Director Peter Jackson and Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman were at SDCC. Jackson showed new footage at the Hobbit panel. Martin Freeman wore a hat.
As you can see, tweets about The Hobbit peaked on July 15th, the day of the Hobbit panel. The tweets weren’t quite evenly split between gender but it looks like the film is eagerly anticipated by everyone.
