Recap: Hispanic Public Relations and Social Media Conference
Published on June 2nd, 2010 by Silvia Prado
A dynamic and passionate group of 300 Hispanic marketing, PR and communications professionals gathered in Dallas for the first annual Hispanic PR and Social Media Conference presented by Hispanic PR Blog, Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Over the course of three days, May 10-12, Marketwire participated as a sponsor of the conference to support multicultural communications and, more specifically, to engage companies and industries in conversations on the Hispanic market.
Although Marketwire had a presence at the conference, our reps had the opportunity to attend several of the 24 conference sessions that discussed:
- Hispanic PR Census
- Case studies
- Diversity in America
- Spanish-language websites as a powerful social media tool
- Hispanic CSR programs
- Measuring return-on-investment for your Hispanic PR and social media marketing campaigns
- Leveraging video and Web 2.0 to facilitate online conversations
- …y mucho mas…
As an attendee, I had countless opportunities to speak to, learn from and share with so many smart communications professionals about the direction Hispanic marketing is taking. Many of those topics are further discussed in the 2010 US Hispanic Social Media & Marketing Overview, which Marketwire is a sponsor of. Marketwire also provided some additional thoughts in a “how-to” article regarding Spanish-language SEO for the upcoming HPRA and the Word of Mouth Marketing Association release of the 2010 U.S. Hispanic Social Media Guide, a free downloadable report to be released next week.
Marketwire looks forward to seeing you at next year’s conference, but, in the meantime, we will be participating in Editor & Publisher’s Interactive Media Conference and Tradeshow, June 16-17 in Las Vegas. In the next few months, Marketwire will be on hand at several upcoming conferences – we hope you will drop by our booth to say hello!
